Hey guys! It’s time for your Monday morning ass slap. Today I want to talk to you about the long game. Most of us want quick rewards, to see the result of our efforts right away. I think what most people don’t understand especially in business, but in fitness too, you might not see rewards until years down the road.
I don’t mean for everything, but I’m just now getting opportunities because of work I put in 2-3 years ago. That’s crazy right? 2-3 years ago, I started putting effort into certain areas, because I felt like they were important to me, and I felt that it would pay off. But I didn’t put a lot of stock in the short game. I knew that this was gonna benefit me down the road. That goes in my business, my personal life, and in fitness. We’re looking at this long stretch of time, because when you get quick results and quick rewards, they don’t normally last.
Instead of looking for that quick result, I know that we all want to feel like we’re actually working towards something, but I promise you, if you are working really hard, and you have a big goal and several small goals, it’s all gonna pay off, but you have to have to think about the long game.
Life does not end in 6 months. In business, you don’t arrive in 3 months. You don’t get the perfect body in 12 weeks, so you have to be willing to put time, effort, and most of all patience into the long game. That is where these rewards will come at you, and they’re so more valuable than those small gains.
This is a marathon, not a sprint. You can’t just go balls to the wall and expect things to fall into your lap. You have to put in a lot of calculated time and effort, and you will reap the benefits of what you sow.
I hope that you guys have an awesome week. Go kill it!
